Sally + Craig | Flaming Bonfire

Sally and Craig had the most fun they have ever had as they went from best friends to husband and wifey in front of the people they are lucky enough to have in their life. The ceremony was held on the beachfront at Surfair Resort on the Sunshine Coast, and the couple were married by the brilliant marriage celebrant Bill Scurry. Wild dancing, tear-inducing speeches, and lots of love and laughter made this day a firm memory in everyone’s mind. But perhaps for Sally and Craig, the Trashing Of The Dress ritual is the one that will remain with them forever. After the day was done and the reception was over, Sally and Craig had a red wine fight, rolled around in the surf, and jumped in the pool – completely dressed in their wedding attire. To complete the ritual, the couple dipped Sally’s wedding dress into a flaming bonfire and watched as the white gown went up in smoke. This is definitely one to watch!

Kay + Mike | The Story .

After bonding over a penchant for bourbon and cola nine years ago, Kay and Mike vowed to spend forever together with a wedding in front of their closest friends and family. The story of how the couple met was so special that they wanted to share it with their guests at the wedding reception, which was held at Bond University on the Gold Coast. Guests wept while watching the film, moved by the couple’s beautiful love story. Kay and Mike were out of the room practicing their bridal waltz while the film was shown, but they did manage to sneak a peek at the iPhone version and they were blown away with happiness at the sight of seeing their romance on screen.

Theresa + Tui | Little White Wedding Church

Theresa and Tui celebrated their powerful exchange of vows in the company of their closest friends and family with an intimate wedding in Maleny on the Sunshine Coast. The Little White Wedding Church, with its vintage charm and quaint romance was the perfect background for Theresa and Tiu to honour their love with a promise to spend forever with each other. The humble couple, bringing tears to the eyes of grown men. Heart-warming speeches, happy tears, a beautiful bridal party, and lots of dancing made Theresa and Tui’s special day a memory that will cause their hearts to swell every time they think of it.

Hey guys! Seeing as we are closing in on the pointy end of the year, I just want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your support during 2011. A massive thank you to all of the couples we had the privilege of working with this year, for trusting us to film your special day, and to each of the vendors we work with for your continued referrals – it’s been an honour to work with you. 2011 has been a great year for us, winning the Australian Bridal Industry Academy award for Best Wedding Video Production in Queensland was a dream come true. We will be heading into the next year with even more goals to kick and bars to surpass, so stay tuned and expect bigger and better things from Playback Films in 2012.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Now I’m off for a surf!

It was seven years ago when country girl Andrea met city boy Lee and their love dissolved any obstacles the distance may have otherwise posed. Fast-forward to 2011, on their wedding day, when the couple had the opportunity to celebrate their friendship, love and marriage in the presence of their closest friends and family. Andrea, a true “princess bride”, and Lee, her best friend and the man she “laughs with, lives for and dreams with”. Andrea and Lee chose the stunning Maleny Manor as the venue for their wedding, located high in the Sunshine Coast’s Blackall Ranges. The groom arrived to the location via helicopter, and the bride descended the elegant spiralled staircase to greet the man she will spend her forever after with.

Prue + Cory . True Love | Feature Film

Just as the grease will never wear off the hands of Cory such will the love between this couple never wear or fade. Prue and Cory were married at Villa Botanica in the Whitsundays at Arilie Beach, which was an exquisite location for a stunning couple. It was the perfect location for these two to seal their union with a kiss and a cheeky squeeze on the bum! Even though the secret of the proposal was discovered by Prue (she may or may not have stalked Cory all the way to the jewellery store!) it was no less special and so was their wedding day. Prue looked absolutely breathtaking as she entered the ceremony and brought a tear to just about everyone’s eye…. better grab the tissues the wait is over. Enjoy.

Ana + Alex . The STORY

The wedding of Ana and Alex was held in the picturesque Tamborine Gardens in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Ana and Alex wanted to share their love for each other with all their guests and what better way to do this than filming their Love Story. Their story begins with how this fun loving couple met quite by accident. They fell in love and danced their way all the way to the altar! This entertaining short film had the crowd on their feet with a standing ovation of applause for Ana and Alex and everyone agreed that they were a match made in heaven..on the dance floor or course!

Danielle and Mitch met through a mutual friend and rumour has it their love blossomed with a what they thought was a sneaky kiss in the car! They couldn’t have hoped for a more perfect day with the whole wedding just as Danielle had dreamed of since she was a tiny little girl. From his cheeky smile right down to his cowboy boots Mitch was every bit the nervous fiancé waiting at the altar until the woman of his dreams appeared at his side. From there the day flowed perfectly despite the minister making a play for the bride during the ceremony!

Hugo + Daniel . Deliver Me

Same Sex Marriage at from Playback Films

If there were ever a couple to chip away at the perception of traditional romance it would be Hugo and Daniel. Every moment captured of their special day depicts just how committed these two are, and just how much of an inspiration their bond is to anyone searching for a happily ever after. Hugo and Daniel stood up in front of their closest friends and family and voiced their vows to spend a lifetime devoted to each other. As Daniel said in his speech, this moment made them so happy, and so proud that they were given the opportunity to “be who they are” in front of the people they love most. The ceremony and reception were held against the picturesque backdrop of Spicers Hidden Vale, one of South East Queensland’s finest country gems. The perfect blend of laidback country charm and modern elegance, this venue certainly did the boys’ stylish union justice. Everyone who had the honour to witness the love between Hugo and Daniel came away from the weekend with a restored faith in the idea of finding “the one”.

Shayna + Elvis Sinosic . Turn to Stone

As a UFC champion fighter I would never have imagined that I would capture such delicate emotion on film from a man who is trained to show unwavering strength and stamina. Shayna and Elvis Sinosic were kind enough to invite me to stay with them at Boonooloo Beach House at Newell Beach, Port Douglas or “Paradise” as we called it which enabled me to get to know this butt kicking couple intimately. It also allowed me to capture every moment of the most memorable weekend of their lives. Despite the windy conditions the entire day ran smoothly which is not only a reflection of this laid back couple, but also testament to the brilliant planning skills of Dee and Kellie from Runaway with me. I had a ball with the photographer Shaun Guests, who was amazing to work with. The beautiful Celebrant Natasha conducted the ceremony to perfection with her heartfelt words for Shayna and Elvis. It was a privilege to film the wedding of Shayna and Elvis Sinosic and an absolute pleasure to meet them. I wish my new friends all the health and happiness in their future together.

Lawrence + Diane . Your Beautiful | North Stradbroke Island

This song choice we used, differently sums up the beautiful couple ‘Diane and Lawrence’. The weather was amazing for and to make it even better their wedding day took place at Anchorage Beachfront on North Stradbroke Island. It was magical. A surprise for us was their reception. We had no idea of the dance moves they were going to pull out during their entering. It looked amazing guys. We need to thank the Event coordinator – Happy Events for making the day run very very smooth, my new friend Diana Wakeham for been a great photographer to work with and the Reception Venue for the great service and for keeping us company during reception – La Foccaccia. Diane and Lawrence, it was a pleasure been apart of your special day and no doubt we’ll see you both around. Thanks
